ENERGIZING ACTION
Cordyceps Sinensis is known in English colloquially as caterpillar fungus and produces a fruiting body which used to be valued as a herbal remedy and in traditional Chinese medicine.
It is mainly found in the meadows above 3,500 meters (11,483 feet) on Tibetan Plateau.
The compound Cordycepin, a derivative of the nucleoside adenosine, is found in caterpillar fungus as well as other Cordyceps species. Cordycepin has several potential medicinal and therapeutic applications. Cordyceps may optimize the use of oxygen and increases the production of ATP, i.e. energy at cellular level up to 55% more.
People most commonly use cordyceps for athletic performance, kidney disorders, liver problems, and sexual problems.
