Maca Extra 30 capsules is a supplement containing Andean maca powder and Maca dry extract standardised to 0.5% in beta-ecdysone.

Maca root consists of carbohydrates (59%), protein (10.2%), fiber (8.5%) and lipids (2.2%); it also contains a large amount of essential amino acids, iron, calcium, iodine, alkaloids, beta-ecdysone, magnesium, p-methoxybenzyl, isothiocyanate, phosphorus, saponin, stigmasterol, sitosterol, tannin, zinc, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B12, vitamin C and vitamin E. It has been traditionally used for centuries as a food source and as a general energy tonic. More recent scientific data suggest that "gelatinized" Maca may help to support healthy sexual activity and fertility for men. It contains fatty acids (maene and macamide), sterols and aromatic isothiocyanates which represent biologically active compounds as aphrodisiacs; some researches have actually confirmed the stimulating action at sexual level and an improvement of erection in case of dysfunction. Thanks to the high content of steroids, maca also has effects on muscle mass, increasing performance and resistance in athletes; moreover it has excellent properties as an adaptogen and it is often used in the "chronic fatigue syndrome" characterized by fatigue, exhaustion and lack of stimuli because it is effective in improving physical vitality and in "strengthening" the immune system.
